Nordic Walking is an enhancement of ordinary walking and using poles it adds two major benefits
The use of poles means the upper body muscles are used as well as the legs
The poles help to propel you along making you work harder than usual yet the support given by the poles makes it feel easier.
Nordic walking is a specific fitness technique different to hill walking, trekking and trail running. The poles are not planted in front but in a specific way that increases the use of the upper body.

Andrea Lucas is a trained Nordic walking UK instructor and runs regular classes in Nordic Walking in Hillsborough Village and Hillsborough Forest Park. One to one and small group sessions are available on request . We are delighted to offer Nordic walking in Northern Ireland.
